Future living conditions, a sustainable development of the city and the way we want to live are all big questions – maybe too big if you ask my professors – at least for a degree project.

Try to illustrate it through a kitchen instead; the heart of any household.

So that’s what I’ve been trying to do. A kitchen that in many ways is more like a piece of furniture. A favorite piece that you can bring along when you move, or expand with extra modules that can be put in the middle of a room.

My kitchen holds all the necessities to cook a meal and other kitchen basics such as: a preparation area, a cooking unit and a place to do the dishes. The materials are chosen to tell a story and to last a lifetime with looks that make it a keeper. It is an honest construction highlighting functionality; any other feature is a bonus.
